Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake (2024)
I made this for my dad’s milestone birthday this year! I tried Preppy Kitchen’s Devil’s Food Cake recipe for the first time and it was hands down the best chocolate cake I have made.
Chocolate Biscoff Cake (2024)
Everyone laughed at me, but I wanted to bake my own birthday cake this year! I tried this recipe from the “I’ll Bring the Cake” book. I enjoyed it but the icing was a bit too sweet for me unfortunately.
I really wanted to make my own birthday cake this year since I hadn’t made a cake in a few months! This is the Chocolate Biscoff Cake from Mandy Merriman’s “I’ll Bring The Cake” cookbook.
Old Fashioned Caramel Cake (2023)
This was requested by my mom this year for her birthday. I love this recipe from Preppy Kitchen!
Robin Egg Carrot Cake (Easter 2023)
For Easter this year, I wanted to make a classic carrot cake. Instead of the typical white cream cheese icing and piped carrots, I really wanted to try the “robin egg” inspired cake idea that I had seen all over the internet. I dyed my cream cheese icing blue and used a mixture of cocoa powder and vanilla to achieve the speckled egg look. I used a paint brush to fling and splatter the mixture onto the cake. This was actually really fun & easier than I thought- although it did make a mess. I kept some of the cream cheese icing white and used it to pipe some nests on top of the cake for my Cadbury mini eggs. I was really happy with how this turned out!
Mocha Cake (2023)
I made this super cute 3-layer 4 inch cake for my friend’s birthday! This was only my second time using the 4 inch cake pans, but I love this size for a mini personal cake. The only drawback is that this cake was SUPER fragile and difficult to keep upright. I made this with chocolate cake and a mocha buttercream. I kept the decorating simple with a chocolate ganache drip which was super satisfying since this cake looks so tall.
